I’ve stocked these wonderful 9 inch, hand rolled Indian incense sticks for a good few years now as I love incense myself and couldn’t find many places to buy good quality, individually coloured and highly fragranced ones with a decent burn time.
Indian incense is traditionally used in India as an offering to the Divine. Historically, incense was first made by priests for medicinal use and worship, but today is widely lit in homes and temples across India, releasing an intoxicating blend of aromas.
Indian incense is usually hand rolled, in stick form. When making the incense, a thin piece of wood such as bamboo is placed in the centre of the stick and then a charcoal paste is coated onto it. The perfumes are then added in powdered form, by rolling the sticks in them.
Indian incense is typically very fragrant and releases wonderful perfumes when it is burned. It's ideal to use in the home, to scent the air in a room, or to have burning whilst practicing yoga or meditation.
