SHOW UP AND BE SEEN 

As many of you will know, and some may not, I am Helen and I have been running my business, The Soap Shack now for over 10 years.  I make and sell beautiful handmade soaps, natural bath, body, and skincare products, Gents grooming products and most recently plastic free, zero waste alternatives to everyday essentials used within the kitchen and bathroom.

For more years than I care to remember it has been part of my plan to break out into the great unknown, online world and launch a website. Each and every year it has been on my “List of things to do this year”, along with completing my tax returns on a monthly basis so I'm not rushing around last minute at the end of January trying to get it submitted on time and losing the extra baby weight I gained whilst pregnant with my first born Edward, who's 16 in August. Fast forward to 2020 and none of these things had been achieved. 

Then along came Covid, Boris closed down non essential shops, markets and Christmas events were cancelled and I found myself at home with a lot of time on my hands and no way of reaching my lovely, loyal customer base. This was the perfect opportunity to finally launch that website and I'm so glad I did.

But I know I need to work on getting myself seen, noticed, out there!!

I have been reliably informed that blogging is the best way to do that. I'm not gonna lie, the thought terrifies me and i’ve put it off and put it off again because, well, quite frankly does anyone really want to listen to me rambling on? I guess we will find out hey?

So last week I got off my butt and signed up for a week-long masterclass on building up your online presence with the amazing blue haired wonder, Maddy Shine - SEO & Visibility Queen. (https://maddyshine.co.uk/ )

What has she taught me so far? That people will want to hear what I have to say, that Google Voice Dictate is an actual thing (thanks so much for that, it's amazing) and that with a little hard work and dedication we can all “Show up and be seen”

I'm looking forward to learning more and have even begun planning my next few blogs. I hope you will find them interesting and informative with a little bit of light relief.
